The countdown has begun!
I’ve written about this trip before but as it gets closer the more and more nervous and excited I get!
I’ve never planned an official retreat before. The ladies in my church have gone away for a weekend before but it was all of us staying in 2 cabins by a lake – real casual – more like a bunch of friends getting away from our hubby’s and kids for some peace and quiet. Planning is new for me, I am more the “fly by the seat of my pants” type of girl… whatever happens happens.
What’s different this time?
1. Another church is joining us so it’s a bigger crowd.
2. More ladies from my church are going so it’s a bigger crowd.
Not that more ladies isn’t a good thing, it truly is!
More ladies means more chances of offending someone or having someone upset by their room arrangements or trying to find enough spaces in vehicles or making sure everyone has a good time. One of my “weaknesses” is that I am a people pleaser and it is hard to please nearly 30 ladies of all ages from all different backgrounds with all different personalities.
It is stressing me out!
I couldn’t sleep until after 1am last night (then JZ was wide-eyed and ready for playtime at 3am and then my 3 year old, was in my bed at 7am talking to himself and wanting to cuddle). I am exhausted!
Back to the weekend coming up… I have done my best to make sure that the ladies have a good time together, that we have a good teaching time, that we pray together, and that we eat well together and… I have done my best to arrange the sleeping rooms so that not only do people feel comfortable but they also get to know new people.
I just want us to all have a great time!
