Growing up White Rock, British Columbia, I thought I’d never leave the west coast of Canada. That all changed when I was introduced to my cousin’s pastor in Kitchener, Ontario during the summer of 1995. The nearly 5,000 km couldn’t get in our way; the 40th day of seeing each other in person was our Wedding Day. We’re the parents of three boys, ages 17, 20, and 24, and one daughter aged 22. Our firstborn decided to have a pandemic wedding and married his high school sweetheart in August 2020. Our first grandchild was born in October 2021. In May 2022, we retired from leading the church my husband planted 30 years earlier, and in August of 2022, we came full circle and moved back to the west coast with our youngest 3.
I worked in finance for 17 years and during that time started blogging as a way to keep in touch with my family in BC. In 2008, I turned blogging into a full-time career when I was headhunted by a marketing agency to launch their digital marketing department. I joined a national marketing and communications agency dedicated to helping those committed to hope, generosity, and justice in 2020 as Graf-Martin’s PR and Community Manager.
My extensive work creating an engaged online community has provided me with opportunities with top brands, ambassadorships, and as a media spokesperson.
Highlights from the last decade include; being one of the driving forces behind BlissDom Canada 2010-2014, meeting Oprah, introducing my daughter to P!NK backstage, waking up on my 42nd birthday with my face on billboards across Canada thanks to Dove, and ringing the NASDAQ bell with PayPal when they went public in 2015.
I have created unique and highly engaging Influencer campaigns for brands like Manulife Financial, The Grocery Foundation, Procter & Gamble and Microsoft Canada.
My hobbies include getting sucked into TikTok and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
