My house has been home to the church office, busy from all my years involved in direct sales or with MLM companies, contracted work for brands and marketing companies including BlissDom Canada and now my own media engagement company…

In all that time, my office has not been the most private space we’ve had. For years I was relegated to the corner of the TV room surrounded by all the kid’s toys.

When I purchased my first laptop, my office was the most mobile space in our home; on my bed, couch or at the kitchen table. Every once in a while, we’d have the room where I could set up space at an actual desk but it has yet to be behind a door. A door one day would be nice.

Working from home has its challenges, add to it I’m a work at home mom {WAHM} of 4… Let’s just say, it makes for good material on ones blog!! The picture in the lower right of the collage… those are Jake’s feet on my head while I Skype with my Virtual Assistant at the time, Tara from Tara’s View of the World.

With four kids in the house, who all love being technologically connected as much as I do, I am constantly looking for one my laptops…

Not only do I share my computers, tablets, phones etc… I have yet to have had a desk that I can call my very own. Check out the left side of the first photo above, that is my current desk {in the open concept sitting room/dining room/ kitchen area of our home} but you wouldn’t know it from everything on top of it. Even though my husband has a desk in our bedroom for his stuff, it’s often too messy for him to actually sit at, so he uses mine. That’s his Bible and sermon notes there… and a poster from my son’s bedroom.

This is what my desk looked like when I came home from BlissDom in Dallas this past March…

It didn’t look like this when I left!!

So what does your home office look like? Do you have a dedicated space, do you share a desk, are you relegated to the corner of the room or maybe you have an actual office behind a door??!!

  1. Great idea for a blog hop! I have a little desk with my computer on it, then I have a large craft room, which never stays clean! You can see it at its best here- Fynes Designs. Is that a pile of receipts in the top pic? I have one of those too!

  2. Oh, I wish I could participate in this blog hop! My office looks like a disaster zone on a good day, but its very much a ground zero since my nephew decided its also his playroom! *facepalm*

  3. Linked up! Thanks for starting this hop! 🙂

  4. Love this! I'm currently setting up a tiny office in my bedroom for me to write/work from and have been curious to see what kind of work space other bloggers have.

I also have 4 kiddies, so I know all too well about those kind of moments where you end up with someone's feet around your head. 😛

  5. Well, i have used a corner of the room for creating my home office…I have a simple but spacious and comfortable desk. What i feel is that its just about how well you keep your home office organized, no matter how much small space it is!
