Christmas is only a few days away – I can’t believe it! The weather out here is far far too nice. I was driving to work this morning with the sun shining, my sunglasses on, with a short sleeve shirt under my black coat (which needs desperately to be replaced, hint hint to my hubby who has been reading my blog…) and I said to myself, “This is a wonderful winter! I could get used to this.” This weather reminds me of when I lived in BC, although they are having quite the year of weird weather.

I’ve been sending my hubby out while I’m at work to pick up this and to pick up that, so I could be one step closer to being ready for Christmas. The only problem with this is not that I don’t trust him with the gift buying process – ’cause he has pretty good taste, it is the fact that he hasn’t been in the basement since the electrical was finished before his little snip snip on the 8th. The floors are still covered in dry wall dust. Q and I managed to get a lot of it but if you’ve ever renovated or built before you’ll know, dry wall dust is fine and gets over everything!!!!

Right now my hubby’s at Ikea, well actually he is stuck in traffic on his way home from Ikea. He said he picked up the rest of the cabinets and counter tops and got stuff to start the Island.

We won’t have much time to do anything in the basement tonight, it’s my daughter’s Christmas dance thingy at her ballet class.

Afterwards I’m going to the hospital to visit a friend who has been there since she was rushed by ambulance on Tuesday at 2am when her pregnancy was terminated when her tube ruptured. She has been trying for 12 years for another baby. They had to do surgery to remove the baby from her tube. She is still there due to some complications. My hubby went up to visit her yesterday morning and brought her a hot chocolate (from Tim H’s, her favourite) but I haven’t had a chance to get in myself. I prayed for her last night at church and I couldn’t stop crying, an overwhelming sense of loss and sadness came over me. You could all pray too – that would be great!!

Off I go running again… it’s a never ending saga…. 😉

In my part of Ontario, it’s much, much too warm – it feels like they declared Chrismas in October! Not too festive – I can’t believe I’m missing snow.
