I know time flies by a lot faster the older you get but come on – this is rediculous!! I cannot believe it is Friday already. I’m so not ready for the weekend! We are doing a mini-graduation service for the sunday school kids on Sunday that I announced last Sunday that I still have to prepare for!! Yikes!! There’s quite a few kids moving up into new rooms with new teachers so we’d like to make a deal of it but I think I spoke before thinking through how I’d actually get this done!

I also have to get my daughter registered for Ballet tomorrow. My friend is waiting in line over night and since I have a nursing baby – k, I know he’s a year old already but he wakes up to eat every other hour – so I can’t wait with her all night long but I will sit with her for a few hours, then I’ll be back in the wee hours of the morning to finish up with her. Em’s missed ballet last year ’cause we were in BC during the registration time, she was very sad. This year I missed registration for Q to play indoor soccer, they don’t play until October but are completely full. I might look into more guitar lessons for him instead. It’s not like we actually have a lot of extra time on our hands to do these “extra-curricular” activities either…. but the kids want to do something other than “church stuff” now. I love the getting older – have my own opinion stage!

Sunday afternoon we’re going with the church to a friends farm for a picnic; I have to get ready for that too. What should I bring? I’ve cooked everyday this week – which is SOOOO not what I’ve done all summer long – I’m pooped! We’ve had Curry Chicken, Spaghetti with Italian Sausage, Meatloaf, Hamburgers, BBQ Chicken and Ribs so far and for tonight… I have NO clue! I need new recipes and some inspiration please!! My kids aren’t picky, which is great and makes life a WHOLE lot easier but I’m bored with my cookbook and cooking the same things over and over again is not fun.

If anyone has any suggestions for sunday school ideas and/or cooking – LET. ME. KNOW!

  1. Oh Shash, just to let you know if you don’t already. On Microsoft Publisher, which I think you have. There is a program in which you can make little phony certificates for/graduation diploma/awards and such. If you are having trouble getting into it. I can do it form my computer if you give me all of the info or I can come over to your house and do it for you. Although I’m working all weekend, I would have to come over after work tommorrow…after 6 aight kool. You get back to me on which route you’re gonna take. Hope all is well!!!

  2. Well time does seem to go by way to fast… I remember when I was young thinking that it took forever for the time to go by and older people mentioning that it time has gone by way to fast. Does this mean I am getting OLD too?!

Thanks for coming and spending time with me today it was a nice change. Can’t wait to see you tonight. It will be fun but cold… no rain though!

    See you then!

  3. I really like this site: http://allrecipes.com/

You can do an ingredient search like chicken and pasta or whatever (type in what ingredients you already have) and it will bring up recipes using those items.

And what’s even better is that you can enter the amount of servings you want and it will convert the recipe for you. Super cool.

I hope that helps a little.

  4. hey there! I called you the other day but you no returny phone cally….hmmmm

anyways….receipe’s…..I am in the same boat! I went to get groceries today and realized I am a creature of habit and buy the same thing to make the same things…. maybe I should be more adventurous!

as for the grad thing….. well they always like getting little diploma’s and certificates. which are easy to do on the puter….call them up front and have them stand in a line and hand them to them as you call their names…..that shouldn’t be too hard to pull together…..have I mentioned delagating to you before??? hmmm??

I signed Hailey up for iceskating lessons today and Emily for Highland dancing! cool eh! got to love the YMCA and their family packages….gym here I come…well I hope to go!

  5. Hmmm, Ideas for Dinners

We do Tortillas/Fajitas/Quesidillas a fair bit, and I love the prepare in advance stuff that you can either freeze or use the crickpot or even just put into one conatiner and cook for over an hour. Things like chilli, or roasts, soups, stews or lasagnas – they can all be done with beef or chicken or even vegetarian.

What about Ham and either mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes? or ummmmmm, home made pizza or pyrogies or beef and broccoli over rice, or nachos or kabobs or…….umm…….oh, we love stuffed potatoes. You basically make like a nacho salad type idea with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes sour cream and salsa, but serve it on top of a baked potatoe. VERY DELICIOUS! Last 2 ideas – for now – are a chicken and rice casserole made with mushroom soup, and goulashe (sp?) ground beef and gravy over mashed potatoes or rice!

Did any of that help? Hope so!

    Love ya!

  6. I meant to say Crock pot, NOT crick pot! Ha Ha Ha!

  7. Ok, this isn’t the healthiest meal, but it is soo good, and kids love it!

Not real sure of exact amounts. It’s not real hard though.

    Cream of chicken soup
cressent rolls (1 pkg makes 4)
    chicken breast
    shredded cheddar
    cook and shred chick breast.
9×13 pan, pour some of the soup in the bottom.
make cressent rolls into rectangles, instead of triangles.
put chick breast and cheese into each rectangle.
    set in the pan
    pour more soup on top.

    serve over white rice.

It’s soo easy, and so good!

  8. I’m getting really hungry hanging out here at your blog. How about steaks on the grill, with buttered corn-on-the cobb, and salad. Or split pea soup with rosemary rolls? For the gourmet touch, try Epicurious.com. I trust your weekend will go very swimmingly. GB.

  9. Sometimes when I want to make something quick that doesn’t take to much work I make a salmon pasta dish thats so easy to just trow togther. Salmon can be expensive so I usually buy the canned stuff but I’m sure you could use the other if youd prefer. What I do is some sort of pasta (bowties for example) then I mix in some spinach and cut up tomato. I then add a little lemon juice and sometimes some basil then I add the a whole can of salmon on top and cut it in to big chunks. We like it. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing you.

  10. Hey, it’s Monday…your life is getting in the way!! JK!!

  11. Happy Birthday, Shash! Thinking ’bout you today!
