Halloween night 16 or so kids from our church’s S.W.A.T. {Students with a Testimony} youth group hit the streets of our neighbourhood. All four of mine included.

This year they weren’t trick or treating for themselves. Inspired by We Day and their Free the Children “We Scare Hunger” campaign, they collected canned goods and non-perishable food items for our local Food Bank.

Thank you to the S.W.A.T. youth leaders who listened to what my kids wanted to do and for doing it with such gusto and thanks to my neighbours who were so very generous!!

But most of all… thanks to all of the youth for thinking of others first. I’m so very proud of each and every single one of you!! You are Hunger Heroes.
